JC Hurtado-Prater is a speaker, educator, author and principal at JC Consulting, a San Diego-based global organizational development consulting firm that helps senior executives and human resource leaders create healthy cultures and develop high-performing teams.
JC, a veteran of the United States Army, non-profit executive and former minister, is passionate about helping leaders, managers and teams thrive in today's competitive environment. JC's personal philosophy is "one's work is the most sacred act one can give away... and time the greatest resource to expend." This belief guides JC in helping organizations develop empowering and high-impact cultures.
In addition to his passion for helping organizational leaders and teams, JC is deeply involved in his local community, serving on the board of directors for South Bay Community Services, the Chancellor’s Community Advisory Board for the University of California, San Diego and the Southwestern College Foundation board of directors. Additionally, JC travels as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers Outreach Team, speaking to local incarcerated youths in the Southern California region. Passionate about education, JC also teaches as an adjunct professor in the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program at Point Loma Nazarene University.
JC is a graduate of UCLA with an MBA from Saint Joseph's College of Maine and is currently working towards a doctorate in Education, Policy and Organizational Leadership through the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. JC, a father of three daughters, makes his home in San Diego, CA where he serves as the worship pastor for New Hope Eastlake, a congregation that reaches 2,000 people in the South Bay region, and spends his free time reading, working out, hiking and kayaking.
